Canadian Forest Environmental Policy

 

Our policy is to protect the environment by ensuring that our forestry operations are in respect with the forest productivity and conservation of its resources.

We are committed to preventing pollution and implementing actions and measures to minimize the environmental impact of our activities by:

 

  • Complying with applicable environmental and forest laws, regulations, standards and other requirements.
  • Promoting and supporting training programs.
  • Continually improving our environmental performance.

We promote and support sustainable forest management by implementing and promoting practices based on the following principles:

 

  • Conserving biological diversity.
  • Maintaining and enhancing forest ecosystem conditions and productivity.
  • Protecting soil and water.
  • Ensuring the contributions of forest ecosystem to global ecological cycles.
  • Maintaining the many socioeconomic benefits of forests for the greater good.
  • Taking into account the values and needs of those concerned by our practices.

We expect our wood fiber suppliers to participate in training programs and to adopt practices consistent with the sustainable forest management. With the public and our clients, we strive at maintaining an open dialogue and at offering high-quality services meeting their needs.
